Surprise Emily in Paris Golden Globes nominee Lily Collins went all in with a big fashion moment at tonight’s bicoastal award ceremony. The 31-year-old actress opted to wear a colorful one-shoulder dress, channeling old Hollywood with her curls and bold lipstick. The look was a nod to her Emily in Paris character’s whimsical, colorful wardrobe, with vintage vibes that also nodded to her Mank character, Rita Alexander. Collins’ look was first seen during the Golden Globes broadcast. The actress hasn’t shared a full-length photo of the look yet:

Collins was up for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for her work as Emily in the hit Netflix series, but lost to Catherine O’Hara, who won for her work on Schitt’s Creek. Emily in Paris itself has a Best Musical or Comedy TV Series nod and Collins’ movie Mank has six nominations, including one for Best Drama Motion Picture.

When her nomination was announced on February 3, Collins shared an Instagram expressing her joy at her inclusion.

“I tried to share the excitement with @redforddog but maybe it’s still too early for him…” she wrote. “So honored to be nominated for a Golden Globe! I’m beaming for both my @emilyinparis family (my first project as a producer!) – and the incredible @mank team. What a wild morning! Ecstatic and grateful doesn’t even begin to cut it…”

Collins spoke to Deadline in February about why she believes Emily in Paris resonated so much with viewers (and apparently the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, to some people’s outrage). “Emily allows for a sense of adventure,” Collins said. “There’s the aesthetic of you’re able to lose yourself in of another country… That sense of adventure I think we’re all craving more than ever [during the coronavirus pandemic].”

She also mused about the future of Emily’s love life—and how nothing is really set—in upcoming season 2. “I don’t know what they’re writing right now, but I think it would be a little early for Emily to lock something in,” Collins admitted. “I think she’s still exploring the prospects. Honestly I think Emily doesn’t even know [what will happen], and that’s the beauty of the way that they write the show. She has yet to find all the qualities she maybe is looking for. But that being said, there is that connection with [her neighbor] Gabriel, but now she has [her friend and Gabriel’s girlfriend] Camille in that love triangle, so I think there’s still experiences to be had, adventure to be had, and she’s still finding herself.”
