Selena Gomez and Jennifer Aniston have been friends for years, though that relationship has largely been kept private. Yesterday, Aniston gave a rare look into their dynamic: for their manager Aleen Keshishian’s birthday, Aniston posted a never-before-seen selfie of them together with Keshishian on her Instagram Story. “Happy birthday @aleenkeshishian. We love you!” she wrote. Gomez appears laughing with Aniston and Keshishian in the candid snap. Gomez reposted Aniston’s IG Story on her own account.
Aniston and Gomez last gave the public an intimate look at their relationship one year ago, when Aniston interviewed Gomez on The Ellen DeGeneres Show while guest-hosting.
Aniston spoke about what their friendship is like now: “You’ve always been so sweet,” she said. “You really are a genuine [Friends] fan. It’s amazing. We’ve known each other for years. You’ve been to my house. We’ve had pizza. Girl after my own heart, do we love a pizza or what? We love a pizza.”
“Yes, we do,” Gomez said.
“It’s so much fun,” Aniston said.
Aniston and Gomez then spoke about their first meeting in a bathroom during a Vanity Fair event. Gomez remembered the moment better than Aniston: “Well, nobody knew who I was, and you were in the bathroom, wearing a black dress,” Gomez started.
“Okay, weird,” Aniston, who frequently wears black dresses, joked.
“And I think we were at Vanity Fair something event, and I was there with my mom, and I walked into the bathroom and I saw you, and you were just like so nice,” Gomez said. “You just walked out of the bathroom and you were going back, and my heart like, stopped. And I freaked out and I ran to my mom and I was like, ‘oh my god, I just saw Jennifer Aniston.’ I was like, ‘oh my god.’”
“Did I say hello? Did we have a pleasantry? [I was] washing my hands, I hope,” Aniston quipped.
“Yeah, you were fine. You were everything that I wanted,” Gomez said.
“Bless your heart,” Aniston told her.
